Good going, Joe. Just keep pissing people off. And a clue for the clueless like Clueless Joe: This was NEVER about Hillary Clinton, so it doesn't matter what she says about Obama. She's a party loyalist. But there is no getting around the filthy campaign Obama chose to run, the 24/7 propaganda by the media in his favor, and the ratfucking by the opposing party to get the weak candidate they want.

Obama is NOT supposed to win, but in the remote chance he does and somehow doesn't get himself removed from office because of his crooked Illinois dealings, he can be counted on to kiss the Republicans' asses and carry out many of the things want, such as "reforming" (destroying) Social Security and some of their other pet issues.

Salon Still Whores for Obama

Just as Joseph Cannon at Cannonfire writes, why do the Obama shills in the media still continue to discount the PUMAs if they are irrelevant? It's because they are not, that's why. Gary Kamiya of Salon keeps trying to repeat the mantra so common among the nutroots bloggers in the hope if he says it often enough, it will eventually be true.

If the nutroots idiots and their media pundits weren't so busy repeating Free Republic-style filth against Hillary Clinton and trying to kick her and her supporters out of the party ala Joe Lieberman, and if Obama and his campaign had not engaged in filth during the primaries and caucuses, maybe her supporters would have at least given Obama a second look, even taking into account Obama is a liar and a crook. But Obama, his campaign, and his nutroots followers ruined all of that, and all three threaten to destroy the Democratic Party.

Democratic Convention II

We will see if the Clinton delegates will make any headway at all.

It seems to be a longshot.

While I was out on my bike ride today, Hillary Clinton released her delegates. If Obama hasn't won the nomination right now, he is close to it. They are doing the roll call now.

Edit: He was nominated by acclamation, just as previous media reports had it. Hillary Clinton moved to have him nominated when New York came up for the votes.

What a travesty this thing is. What you saw was not a vote, but a sham.

Democratic Convention II

Pass the popcorn:

Bill Clinton appeared to undermine Sen. Barack Obama again Tuesday.

The former president, speaking in Denver, posed a hypothetical question in which he seemed to suggest that that the Democratic Party was making a mistake in choosing Obama as its presidential nominee.

He said: "Suppose you're a voter, and you've got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don't think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?"

Then, perhaps mindful of how his off-the-cuff remarks might be taken, Clinton added after a pause: "This has nothing to do with what's going on now."

After all, it's just a hypothetical situation.

The more Obama supporters resort to name-calling like calling Clinton supporters "dead-enders" and accusing them of being GOP moles, when the truth of the matter is it is far more likely the Obama camp was contaminated with GOP people willing to ratfuck the caucuses and primaries to get a weak candidate, the more people are going to be pissed off and not even bother supporting the soon-to-be-nominee. This includes major donors for Hillary Clinton.

It is No Surprise

Salon, long in the tank for Barack Obama, would shit all over the PUMA protesters because they have the unmitigated gall to challenge the completely undemocratic way the "nominee" was decided.

Moron Traister thinks that because there weren't that many people protesting in Denver, this means Obama will get almost all of the Democratic vote. No he won't, not even close.

The asshole, meaning Obama, doesn't even want a full roll call of the states, something that has been done in almost all previous Democratic conventions. He wants to throw the Clinton supporters a bone and then pull the rug right out from under them.

Campaign Dumb Opinions

Well, Donna, I hate to break it to you, but the PUMA argument isn't really about Hillary Clinton at all, and therefore no matter what Hillary Clinton may like to see happen in the name of party "unity," there is no going back to the way things were before the primary season kicked off.

It was people like you who created the situation in the first place by not fully seating or stripping Clinton delegates from Florida and Michigan, by not apologizing for the filthy, race-baiting campaign "Obama" ran, for not admitting "Obama" didn't have the majority of the popular vote, for not allowing Clinton to take the contest all the way to the convention, and for not condemning the smears by the attack dogs from the media and the "progressive" blogosphere for creating the rift.

It can't begin to be bridged unless or until the votes are counted. Even then, it's probably too late.

The Cause of PUMA

While bloggers from sites like the Huffington Post and Daily Kos whine about PUMA, in truth they helped cause this anti-Obama movement.

And if Obama is nominated and goes down to almost certain defeat in November, the nutroots need share a large part of the blame for it. Not that they will, of course, but they should.

PUMA responds to the DOS attacks against bloggers who had Blogger accounts and who were in the "Just Say No Deal" coalition.

According to them, it appears it was a coordinated effort to shut down blogs the perpetrators didn't like.

It Doesn't Take

a Ph.D. in political science to see the Republicans (with the media) having had everything to do with ratfucking the Democratic presidential contest this primary season; to point out the obvious does NOT make one a Republican shill, as I am among many totally opposed to the idea of supporting McCain.

The danger of having Obama as the nominee, even knowing he can't win squat in the fall, is the damage he will do in downticket races. That's the worry. McCain could well win every single state and Democrats could actually lose their slender majorities in the House and the Senate. THEN we will be really be screwed.

But we will be screwed anyway if Obama actually gets in there and does the bidding of Wall Street and other interests intent on privatizing all kinds of government functions.

The PUMA "movement" has little to do with Hillary Clinton, though many if not most of the bloggers supporting it did support Clinton. The movement is a reaction to the outrageously rigged primary/caucus season, which was most likely ratfucked by the GOP via loopholes in state laws/rules which allowed for crossover voting and also by the GOP-leaning media which crowned Obama the nominee MONTHS before Clinton decided to suspend her campaign (under DNC pressure, I might add, just as John Edwards was forced out earlier). The movement is also a reaction to the Obama campaign itself which engaged in the vilest campaign in the history of the Democratic Party presidential contests in painting the Clintons as racists, and with their bloggers using every filthy lie about them to further a candidate they knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT AND DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT. These are the same vile hypocrites who shit on Joe Lieberman by promoting and running an idiot against him back in the 2006 Connecticut Democratic primary because they called Lieberman (also called LIEberman or "Holy Joe," the latter nickname thinly-veiled anti-Semitism, in my opinion) a Republican for his Iraq War stance and basically forced him out of the party because of their filth. Yet most of these same people backed the Mouth of Montpelier for president in 2004 who was little more than a Rockefeller Republican but had a minor talent at demagoguery and now they back this total fraud of a "liberal" or "progressive" for president with big Wall Street and corporate backing who has the same type of economic philosophy as the people who are already in charge of the government but who could NEVER get away with the stuff Obama would pull if he were elected.

So don't hand me this shit, Amanda, about PUMA being some kind of Republican front. You will NEVER, EVER read ANYWHERE that I back McCain, only that he would be better with a Democratic Congress keeping him in line than Obama with a Democratic Congress who just might pull privatization shit on the public with the party's approval. We cannot afford that.

I was a Democrat LONG before you were born, Amanda, so don't you DARE tell me that because I refuse to back a crook, a liar, a GOP ringer, that I am NOT one. I am NOT going to condone what was done in this primary by the GOP, the DNC, the nutroots, and the media by giving this guy my vote. I have read quite a few posts criticizing Traister, but I think my explanation, which took only a few words, summed up the outrage better than most essays which ran for hundreds if not thousands of words. Brevity is always best when writing on blogs. Blogs shouldn't be imitations of The New Yorker.

In even more brief terms, the Hillary supporters are angry because she WON the primaries and was forced out through dirty tricks by the Obama campaign and by the Democratic Party, and they are angry because of the way BOTH Clintons were treated by the media, by the Obama campaign, and yes, even by the nutroots.

Don't Be So Sure,

Walter, Hillary Clinton voters will automatically flock to Obama. That's what Obama was bragging about in the primaries, by the way, while at the same time hinting his supporters might not vote for Clinton if she had been the nominee.

Uh, once the vetting really gets going, and ALWAYS remember the media have always been in the tank for John McCain, Obama will bleed support until there is practically no support left.

All one has to do is look at 1972, another election where the primaries were manipulated--illegally then--to know a weak candidate can lose all kinds of support to the other side or stay home.

Clinton and Obama

Hillary Clinton supporters aren't angry she "lost" the contest--they are angry she WON the contest, just as John Kerry won in 2004 and Al Gore did in 2000 and feel it was stolen. What made this even worse is the Democratic Party, the party which stands for the right of every vote to be counted, was the one sanctioning and creating the cheating.

They are angry at sexism, but they are extremely angry at the way BOTH Clintons were treated this season, not only by the Obama campaign, a campaign that waged the filthiest primary campaign in the history of the Democratic Party, but also by the media. A media, mind you, that is still pissed off they couldn't run the Clintons out of town in the 1990s because they refused to kiss the Beltway Slut's ass.

And these two reasons, which this writer refuses to address, are the reasons behind the movement by Democrats against Obama.

By the way, Rebecca, Clinton didn't "concede"; she suspended her campaign. Not that it makes any goddamned difference to you.
